Stoicism

It is the view of Zeno and his Stoic followers that there are two races of men, that of the worthwhile, and that of the worthless. The race of the worthwhile employ the virtues through all of their lives, while the race of the worthless employ the vices. According to stoicism, while worldly success is achieved by getting what we want, happiness can be attained only by finding contentment in what we get.

智者和平常人的区别是，智者是那些能够做到自己的言行不被外界环境左右、不受身外之物影响的人。他们善于面对生活中出现的种种困难，懂得如何面对命运带来的挑战和冲击。在一般人眼中难以化解的一些问题，诸如地位、荣誉、竞争、贫困、疾病、死亡等等，对他们来说都不算什么，因为他们对世人最喜欢追崇的几样东西，财富、权势、名誉、健康，智者的快乐来自于内心，来自于品德的高尚，
